The Air Commandos are rucking and climbing again, this time to raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and to honor five fellow Air Commandos that fell this year in the of line of duty. On February 3rd, 2013, twelve Air Commandos will start their journey from Hurlburt Field, FL and will arrive at MacDill AFB on February 8th, 2013.
Their route will cover 450 miles. Starting along Highway 98 (old 98 and 30A for a short stretch), they will pass through the communities of Ft Walton Beach, Destin, Sandestin, Watercolor, Seaside, Alys Beach, Grayton, Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, Port St Joe, Apalachicola, Eastpoint, Carabelle, Perry. From there, they will continue onto route 19 towards Cross City, Fanning Springs, Chiefland, Otter Creek, Inglis, Crystal River, Homosassa Springs.
Their second to last leg will be on highway 41, passing through Brooksville, Masaryktown, Wilson Heights, Trojantown, and finally into Tampa where they will complete their march at MacDill AFB.
While this group marches towards Tampa, two other Air Commandos will be leaving on February 3rd to travel to Tanzania to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.
